Ocracoke Health Fair will be October 18th

Ocracoke Health Center is sponsoring Health Fair on October 18th, 9am – 2pm at the Fire Hall

All are welcome to this free event!

Participants include:

Hyde Co. Health Department will be giving Flu Shots ($26) and Flu Mist ($31) and will file to your insurance. Learn about the Health Dept.’s Women, Infant & Children (WIC) program, Medication Assistance Program, Newborn Home Visit Program, and Hydeland Home Care.

The Outer Banks Hospital  will bring their “Health Coach”, a 39’ Winnebago set up as a mobile office to provide a free wellness check-up that may include body mass index, BP, blood sugar, blood oxygen, heart rate, and cholesterol. Please call Ocracoke Health Center (928-1511) to set up an appointment for the Health Coach, for your health screening at the fair. There is no charge for this health screening.

Cancer Resource Center of the Outer Banks Hospital: The Center provides support to cancer patients, their families, care providers and others who are concerned about cancer.

Hyde County Transit will provide free transportation to and from the Health Fair. Please call 926-1637 to schedule your ride.

Coming soon to the Ocracoke Health Center: Learn about the Health Information Exchange (HIE), a secure computer system for doctors, hospitals and other health care providers to share information that can improve your care.
