The Sun Sets on 2012
While most Ocracokers were asleep last night, islanders half a world away, on Kiribati in the South Pacific, rang in the New Year. By the time most of us are soundly sleeping tonight, American Samoans will be the final people on earth to see the clock tick away 2012.
This evening is a chance to celebrate and reflect on the blessings bestowed by the past year, and time to cherish friendships and loved ones.
Just a refresher, so you don't have to mumble along:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne
