Special Concert to Benefit Community Square Project

Come out to the Ocracoke Community Center on Saturday, November 3rd for an evening with Don Dixon and Bland Simpson of "King Mackeral and the Blues are Running." They'll share songs and stories about the Carolina coast in a one-night show created just for Ocracoke.

According to the even't organizer, Merle Davis, the show is a "thank-you to our local fishermen and people who have worked to create awareness of Ocracoke's heritage and resources."

Sponsored by Ocracoke Foundation, Inc., the show is also funded by donations from local businesses and individuals. Because of this generous underwriting, 100% of the ticket price will go to support the Community Square revitalization project, helping to preserve Ocracoke's waterfront heritage.

Merle has been hoping to get these guys here to play since she first saw them perform twenty-seven years ago. She promises the show tomorrow will be "a lively and enjoyable time for all."
