OVFD to Host Open House

Press Release

Come out to celebrate National Fire Prevention Week!

The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department invites the members of the community to our open house on Sunday, October 7, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Everyone will have the opportunity to check out the fire trucks and all of the equipment they carry, meet some of the fire fighters, as well as tour the fire station.  The plans for the new fire station will also be available for your perusal.

Handout material will be provided for adults as well as the youths.  There will be videos and safety information for the kids.  The kids will be given the chance to handle a fire hose and spray some water, while wearing their new fire helmets.

It should be a fun time for all, so all kids and adults come out and join the activities.  It’s great to watch the little ones work the hose lines.

National Fire Prevention Week will continue with members of the fire department visiting all school grades with age-appropriate safety tips and materials.

Stay Safe,

Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department
