Styron Files to Run Again

John Fletcher and incumbent Darlene Styron filed to be Ocracoke commissioner.

The two Democrats will face off in the spring primary.  The victor will be the only candidate listed for that office on the November ballot.

Commissioners serve four year terms.

Three other candidates have filed for Ocracoke office.  Scott Bradley and George Roberson, both incumbents, and Joan O'Neal filed to serve on the non-partisan Ocracoke Sanitary District board.

The Hyde elections office reports that no one filed to fill Anson Byrd's seat in the Fairfield District.  Incumbent board chair Sharon Spencer will be challenged by Republican Earl Pugh for the Lake Landing seat in November.
