Special BOE Meeting Tuesday

Special BOE Meeting Tuesday

The board will review their decision to stay under Plan C.

At their regular October meeting, the Hyde County Board of Education voted 5-0 to remain in Plan C, which is all-remote learning for all grade levels.

Due to pressure from parents and other community members, chairman Randy Etheridge called a special meeting to be held Tuesday, October 27th at 5pm.

The board will receive updates and review their decision.

Email superintendent Steve Basnight at sbasnight@hyde.k12.nc.us to request to be added to public comment. You can also put in your two cents by emailing or calling one or all of the board members.

The meeting will be broadcast live through the Hyde County Schools Facebook page.

Before commenting, we recommend you visit the Hyde County Schools Facebook page and watch the 2-hour long presentation video about what would be required by staff and students in order to open school for in-person or hybrid learning. The BOE made their decision after being presented with the information in Mr. Basnight's presentation.
