3 COVID-Related Deaths on Mainland

With a heavy heart, Hyde County Health Department reports 3 individuals within our county have died as a result of COVID-19.

“This is heartbreaking to our agency, and the staff wish to convey our condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones,” stated Health Director Luana Gibbs.

As reported yesterday, COVID-19 continues to spread within our communities. Please take this seriously. Though most people recover, not all do.

Editor's note: Ocracoke now has 4 active cases. Our island resident who was hospitalized is now home, with a long recovery ahead.
