One-Stop Early Voting dates and a peek at the sample ballot!

North Carolina's One-Stop Early Voting begins October 15th and runs until October 31st. During One-Stop voting, you can register and vote at the same time!

Any Hyde County resident can do One-Stop voting here on Ocracoke at the fire department OR on the mainland at the Hyde County Board of Elections office in the Public Safety Building at 1223 Main Street in Swan Quarter.

We can vote in Swan Quarter beginning October 15th on weekdays 8am–5pm through Friday, October 30th, and also one Saturday, October 31st 8am–3pm.

On Ocracoke, we get TWO One-Stop early voting days: Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd, 8am–5pm. Our wonderful poll workers would love to see you and it won't be crowded! Wear a mask and wait 6' behind people. We are lucky that we don't have long lines to vote here on the island.

If you plan to vote in-person on Election Day, November 3, 2020, you must be registered by October 9. Click here for more information about registering to vote or requesting an absentee ballot.

Our ballot is 2-sided, going from the top of the ticket with the Presidential race, down ballot through U.S. Senate and House, state offices from governor to NC House, all the way through district and county to the Ocracoke Sanitary District Board.

We'll post more information about district and local races soon.

The Ocracoke Current wants you to VOTE! If you are on Ocracoke and need a ride to the polls (fire department) during One-Stop Voting or on Election Day, we are here to help! Text us at 252-921-0283 and we will make sure you get there and back to work or home again.
