Who Wants to Support a Musician?

Who Wants to Support a Musician?

You can help out an (almost) starving artist!

Editor's note: Ocracoke Alive had to cancel this year's Ocrafolk Festival due to COVID-19. All those wonderful musicians they wanted to bring to Ocracoke.... bless their hearts, they can't perform concerts anywhere else either. So here's a letter from David and Gary about how Ocrafolk fans can share the love with festival performers:

Hello friends,

Hope you’re all well and finding positive ways to get through this crazy time! We’re doing okay...I guess the Ocracoke Community is pretty accustomed to dealing with the extremes of nature (by the way, the beach was beautiful yesterday!).

We have had a fan contact us saying that they are retired, don’t really need the government stimulus check, and would love to donate it to an artist in need. What a wonderful and generous offer! As you know, most working musicians live gig to gig, and the work has all dried up for the foreseeable future.

If there are more of you out there who would like to do the same, please contact us and we’ll hook you up with a musician/artist who could really use your help right now. Anyhow, no guilt pressure intended; we just thought it was a wonderful idea that others might like to know about.

We love you, and stayed tuned for some upcoming things we’re working on to share with you.

Thanks very much!
