Monday, February 17th:

11am: Ocracoke Strong Kitchen lunch @ Community Center, for fulltime, year-round residents only. 

Tuesday, February 18th 

8:30am: Pre-K Registration @ Community Center 8:30am-1pm. Pre-K for the 2020-21 school year will service children who are 4 years old by August 31, 2020.

9am: Teresa Adams office hours @ Hyde County office at the Community Center: 9am-Noon. She has information on Individual Assistance (for people who have been denied Small Business Administration (SBA) loans); food stamp information; housing applications to elevate homes; Legal Aid info; Back At Home; Trillium information; re-entry permits and and permits for people who want their families to help; contractors lists; and various online information. Her phone number is 252-921-0053. The Legal Aid number is 866-219-5262. 

11am: Ocracoke Strong Kitchen lunch @ Community Center, for fulltime, year-round residents only. 

4:30pm: Post-Dorian Support Group meeting @ Lightship Realty: Free support group for grief and loss. All residents are welcome. With the holidays there will be more acute feelings of loss for many on the island. Our recovery from Dorian continues to influence how we respond to daily events on the island. Sharing space with others in a safe, supportive environment and talking about the challenges and learning tools for coping can make a difference. Facilitated by Ruth Fordon and Desiree Ricker.  

Wednesday, February 19th: 

7pm: Ocracoke Housing Coalition meeting @ Community Center. All are welcome!

7pm: Island Trivia Night @ 1718 Brewery. $2 to play; hosts are Chrisi and Charles. Good times showing off how smart you are!

Thursday, February 20th:  

8am: VOTE Early @ the Fire Station! Polls open for One-Stop Voting (register and vote at the same time!) 8am-5pm. Vote in the Primary Election as a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, or Constitution party member. NOTE: there are 2 seats open for the Ocracoke Sanitary District Board of Commissioners [a.k.a. Water Board]. The 2 incumbent Board Members, Regina O'Neal Boor and Scott Bradley, are willing to serve another 4-year term. Only Scott's name will be on the ballot. There are lines on the Ballot for Write-Ins. To vote for Regina, you will need to write-in "Regina O'Neal Boor" and be sure to darken the circle by her name.

6:30pm: Open Jam with Coyote @ Community Center. 6:30-9pm at the Ocracoke Community Center. No charge.
All ages and abilities. Bring your instrument, voice (or just listen), and a simple song you can lead and teach us.
Jason Wells (Ocracoke Strong Kitchen) is providing nibbles and donations go to Ocracoke Strong Kitchen.

Saturday, February 22nd:

11am: Girl Scout Cookies! Booth sale at Books to Be Red. 11am-2pm. 

12noon: Warming Center/Open House @ OUMC Rec HallWe will be open 12pm-5pm. Coffee and treats... and plenty of games, books, and friendly conversation for everyone who wants to stop by and say Hi. Organized by Meredith Rollman.

6:30pm: BBQ Sandwich Sale @ Community Center. Proceeds benefit Ocracoke School Alumni Association. Eat 'cue and stay to play QUIZO!

7pm: QUIZO @ Ocracoke Community Center. Fun for all! Sponsored by PTA -- lots of great prizes! Your first QUIZO board is FREE; additional boards are $2 each.   

Sunday, February 23rd: 

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (9am @ Rec Hall) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
