Hippity-hoppity, Easter's on its way!

If you're planning a visit during the early spring, check out the Who's Open page so you'll know where you can eat, sleep, shop, and play. Spring opening dates for your favorite places are on there, too!

Monday, March 26th:

Windy and cold. Where is spring?

Tuesday, March 27th:

Hatteras-Ocracoke ferries are supposed to begin Spring Schedule today, but will actually start tomorrow. 

6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-9pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). No charge, but donations welcome.

Wednesday, March 28th:

4pm: Play Ball! Ocracoke’s Middle School Baseball team will be hosting its first home game of the season today beginning at 4pm vs Creswell @ the Ocracoke Community Park! 

7pm: Island Trivia @ Gaffer's Sports Free to play this week! Come out and show how smart you are!

7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. No charge, but donations welcome.

Thursday, March 29th:

6pm: Maundy Thursday service @ OUMC

7:30pm: Arts Week Performance @ Ocracoke School: Elementary Puppeteers and a performance of The Pony Expresso, or....How the Villain Came to a Grinding Halt, melodramatic performance by Ocracoke Middle School. Fun entertainment for all! There may also be tickets left for the 4-Course Dinner prepared and served by the Culinary Arts students. See poster for more information. 

Friday, March 30th:

12noon: Good Friday service @ OUMC

5pm: Back Porch Restaurant opens for the season. Open for dinner March 30th–April 8th, then open weekends until end of April, then they'll be open every night for the season.

8pm: Live Music @ Coyote Music Den! Martin, Marcy, and Lou "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" in the intimate listening roon of the Coyote Music Den in the Community Square. Every Friday night through November 26th. $15 adults/$7 kids under 12. Doors open at 7:30pm. Bring your own refreshments; soft drinks and water available for purchase. 

Saturday, March 31st:

10am: Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ocracoke United Methodist Church: All are welcome to join in the fun! There will be a short program inside the church for the children while the Easter Bunny finishes the work outside. Don't be late! The Easter Egg hunt is fast and furious! 

6pm: Easter Wine Tasting @ Zillie's: Hop into spring with a special Easter Weekend Wine Tasting! Five fun wines will be paired with savory and sweet incredible treats from the pantry. Limited space available for this Special Wine Tasting. Make a reservation @ zillies.com

6pm: Live music! Martin & Friends @ Ocracoke Oyster Co. 

Sunday, April 1st:

6:30am: Happy Easter! If you're the morning type, you'll love the Sunrise Service at the Lifeguard Beach! The annual Easter Sunrise Service is a joint venture between the Ocracoke United Methodist Church and the Ocracoke Assembly of God. It's a moving service and a lovely time to be on the beach (or so they tell me.)

If you like to sleep in, both churches have regular Easter services at 11am; the Assembly of God also has a 6pm service
