Current Events Week of March 12-18

If you're planning a visit during the early spring, check out the Who's Open page so you'll know where you can eat, sleep, shop, and play. Spring opening dates for your favorite places are on there, too!

Monday, March 12th:

Per the National Weather Service at Newport, NC: "A storm will form off the coast Monday, bringing widespread rain and wind to the area. The strongest winds will occur toward the coast Monday night, with minor coastal flooding possible. As colder air moves in Monday evening, we may see a few snow flakes before everything ends. NO accumulations are expected with very warm temperatures at the surface. We will remain chilly through mid-week. Want some warmer air? We will feel more like spring by the end of the week."

10:30am: TDA meeting @ Community Center: Ocracoke Tourism Development Authority will hold their regular monthly meeting from 3–5pm. The TDA board is also known at the 2% board because they are authorized to spend the new (as of 2018) extra 2% of occupancy tax.
