Current Events Week of Jan. 22–28

If you're planning a visit during the winter, check out the Who's Open page so you'll know where you can eat, sleep, shop, and play. Even with limited options for ways to spend your money, Ocracoke is a great getaway. The best part of a winter visit is the great outdoors. The winter beach is amazing. Springer's Point and the NPS Nature trail never disappoint. Less is more around these parts.

Tuesday, January 23rd:

POSTPONED: 4pm: Home middle school basketball games 

6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-9pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). No charge, but donations welcome.

Wednesday, January 24th:

7pm: Trivia Night @ Gaffer's. Show off how smart you are! $2 to play and the proceeds go to a good cause (TBA).

7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. No charge, but donations welcome.

Thursday, January 25th:

4pm: Home middle school basketball games @ Ocracoke School gym. Games start at 4pm. Go Dolphins!

Friday, January 26th:

4pm: Go Dolphins! Home JV/Varsity Basketball games start at 4pm in the Ocracoke School gym. Fear the Pod!

Saturday, January 27th:

5pm: The Annual "Ocracoke Through Your Eyes" Art Show @ Ocracoke Preservation Society A reception (catered by Zillie's and Eduardo's!) and art opening is planned for Saturday, January 28th, from 5 – 7pm at the Museum. The artwork will be available through a silent auction during the reception. Andrea will post photos of the canvases on the OPS Facebook page. You can see a selection there and even place your bid online before the big event! 6pm: Live Music! Martin & Friends @ Oyster Co. 

Sunday, January 28th:

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
