Monday, March 27th:

2:30pm: Play Ball! Home Middle School baseball game at 2:30pm, followed by Varsity Baseball game. Cheer on the Dolphins @ Ocracoke Community Park. Fear the Pod!

Tuesday, March 28th:

7pm: Journey to Cuba at Annual Friends of the Library Meeting. Join us at the Ocracoke Library for a travelogue presentation with Ocracoke residents Gael Hawkins and Jen Esham, who both recently traveled to Cuba. Refreshments provided. 

7pm: Coyote Music Den's Winter Jams every Tuesday through March, 7–9pm. Last one tonight!! Bring your instrument and join in!

Thursday, March 30th:

11am: NPS Public Comment Meeting about projects related to NCDOT Passenger ferries. Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Seashore), in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), is hosting a meeting to obtain public comments on projects related to a new NCDOT passenger ferry service from Hatteras Island to Ocracoke Island. Several projects are proposed on park lands and the Seashore has been collaborating with NCDOT on planning to accommodate certain aspects of the passenger ferry project. Thursday, March 30, 11am-12pm - Ocracoke Community Center. The Seashore will be taking public comments at the meetings and online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/caha_NCDOTpassengerferry from March 15 until April 13. Comments can also be mailed to: Superintendent, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, 1401 National Park Dr, Manteo, NC 27954.

12pm: NPS Beach Clean-Up: Meet park staff at the Ocracoke Day Use Area (Lifeguard Beach) to check in. Bring leather gloves, water, snacks, and sunscreen. Wear appropriate clothing, including closed toe shoes and hats. Trash bags will be provided. Children under the age of 18 must have their parent or legal guardian with them.

4pm: Play Ball! Home Varsity Baseball game. This is also Senior Night for Baseball and Track & Field! Cheer on the Dolphins @ Ocracoke Community Park. Fear the Pod!

7–9pm: Word Play Gathering at Coyote Music DenSpoken, written, stories, songs, something original, or you are reading, any genre, all ages, all "levels" ... Last one of the season!

Friday, March 31st:

5pm: Dajio Restaurant is opening for the season! Grand opening party featuring Raygun Ruby from 7-10pm to showcase bar renovations. Serving food 5-9pm (including pizza until 10pm). Then starting Saturday, April 1st it is full steam ahead. Breakfast, Lunch, Shrimp Hour and Dinner seven days a week. Pizza Tuesday–Sunday 5-10pm. 

Saturday, April 1st:

12pm: Hit, Pitch, and Run contest @ Ocracoke Community Park.

6pm: Live music! Martin & Friends at Ocracoke Oyster Company, 6-9pm. 

7pm: Live music! Free choir concert @ Deepwater Theater. The Salem Select Girls Choir under the direction of Lynne German are bringing their show choir to Ocracoke, for performances and workshops for Ocracoke students on March 31, and a free community concert at Ocracoke Alive’s Deepwater Theater on April 1st, at 7pm. The performers are a small but diverse group of students from Salem High School in Virginia Beach, and are joined together by their common love of singing. Their music covers a variety genres, from Classical to Spiritual to light Pop and Rock. Sponsored by Ocracoke Alive.

Sunday, April 2nd:

Another quiet spring day on the island. You could go to church.... Both churches have 11am services; the Assembly of God also has a 7pm service.

7pm: Trivia Night @ Gaffer's!! This special night was moved to Sunday. $2 to play; proceeds benefit a local good cause. Come out and show us how smart you are!

Looking ahead....

The Tale of the Black Squall performance will be Thursday, April 13th at Ocracoke School. 

The first Maker's Market of 2017 will be Saturday, April 15th on the lawn at the Wahab House on Silver Lake. 

The 3rd Annual Clam Chowder Cook-Off is also on Saturday, April 15th. More information here. 

6th Annual Ocracoke 10k/5k, 1 Mile Family Fun Run & 2nd Annual Half Marathon will be April 29th & 30th. Register here.
