Current Events Week of February 13-19

Monday, February 13th:

1pm: Ocracoke Ferry Division Meeting @ the Community Center. Find out the ferry news. All are welcome. 

6pm: Festival Latino de Ocracoke planning meeting @ Deepwater Theater.

Tuesday, February 14th:

11am: Jason's Restaurant opens for the Season! Spring hours will be Monday–Saturday, 11am-2pm for lunch, and 5pm-8:30pm for dinner; closed Sunday. 

11am: Valentine's Day at Ocracoke Oyster Company...Valentines Day Dinner Specials starting at 5pm: Filet Oscar or Crab-stuffed Fresh Flounder, Asparagus w/ Hollandaise & Baked Potato; Dessert: Couples Heart Cake. They are closing after lunch on the 15th for their annual break. Opening again mid-to-late-March.

5pm: The Flying Melon is OPEN for one night only! Happy Valentine's Day! 5pm–9pm. 

7–9pm: Coyote Music Den's Winter Jams every Tuesday through March. Bring your instrument and join in!

Wednesday, February 15th:

7pm: Trivia Night! Show off how smart you are! This week, Trivia moves to Gaffer's Sports Pub. 7pm, $2 each to play. Proceeds will benefit Ocracats. 

Thursday, February 16th:

3:15pm: Open Batting Practice @ Ocracoke Community Park. All ages welcome! Fun and informal. 

7–9pm: Word Play Gathering at Coyote Music Den. Spoken, written, stories, songs, something original, or you are reading, any genre, all ages, all "levels" ...

Friday, February 17th:

3:15pm: Soccer Skills Challenge @ Ocracoke Community Park. Prizes for adults and kids! All are welcome! 

Saturday, February 18th:

8am: Youth Basketball games start early and go until 2pm. Come out to the Ocracoke School gym and watch the future Dolphins play ball!

10am: Soup and Sandwich Lunch and Bake Sale Fundraiser in the Ocracoke School multi-purpose room. Proceeds benefit the 4th and 5th grade field trip. Starts at 10am until sold out. 

Sunday, February 19th:

Another quiet winter day on the island. You could go to church.... Both churches have 11am services; the Assembly of God also has a 7pm service.

6th Annual Ocracoke 10k/5k, 1 Mile Family Fun Run & 2nd Annual Half Marathon will be April 29th & 30th. Register here.
