Soundside View of Matthew

Thanks to Gary Mitchell for sharing this video he made during the storm.

Gary and his wife, Kitty, live on the North Pond, which is a little indentation of Pamlico Sound on the north side of the village. They have an amazing waterview every day of the year, but the saltwater gets up close and personal during hurricanes and nor'easters. Hurricane Matthew made almost everyone's property "waterfront," but Gary got to see the waves come crashing in from the sea. (If the video doesn't load here, just click on the YouTube link!)

Current readers have met these peeps before as part of Molasses Creek (Gary) and as Ocracoke School's art teacher (Kitty.)
