With storm updates! See Wednesday and later for cancellations....

Island kids go back to school... and we head into Labor Day weekend.

We're going to have some weather this week. Rain, thunderstorms, maybe some wind. Later today, we'll post Capt. Rob's tropical outlook on TD 8 and TD 9 and that other big wave coming off Africa. Just keep in mind that the following events may depend on clement weather.

Summer's winding down on the island, but there's still some stuff going on...

The National Park Service hosts interpretive programs on Ocracoke every week in the summer. Find that schedule hereWonderful NPS volunteers and rangers open the Lighthouse a couple of times a week. (You can go in, but not up!) Stop by the NPS Visitor Center for specific times or check the Current's Facebook page.
