Memorial Day kicks off a busy week that will lead to Ocrafolk!

Tuesday, May 31:

Live Music at Ocracoke Oyster Company with Aaron Lavigne, starting at 7pm.

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

Wednesday, June 1:

Outdoor Classroom summer programs begin today, and will continue every Wednesday at 10am. All programs are free, last approximately 90 minutes, are outdoors, and taught by Elizabeth Hanrahan, a certified wildlife educator. This week, you can learn "How to Read a North Carolina Beach" at the NCCAT/Old Coast Guard Station.

Art Opening at Down Creek Gallery, 5–8pm, for painter Doug Hoover. Doug describes the new body of paintings as a continuation of what he loves to do, which is capturing “momentary impressions of the scenes around me that seem interesting of the people I meet and or see. Skylines, shorelines, or whatever it is I’m experiencing at the moment.” Come out and "Expose Yourself to Art" and enjoy refreshments, and musical entertainment by Rob King.

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote" (just Marcy and Lou!) at 8pm every Wednesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

The weekly Ocrafolk Opry begins tonight for the season! Live music and storytelling by a variety of local talent. Shows begin at 8pm at Deepwater Theater. More info here.

Current Events Week of May 30th

Every Wednesday night, Ocracoke Oyster Company will host Karaoke starting at 8:30pm. Come out and be a rock star!

Thursday, June 2:

One-Stop Voting today at the Fire Hall, 9am-4pm. This is for NC's weird 2nd primary of 2016. It's time to vote for judges and congressional seats. Here's a good article in the Raleigh News and Observer that explains it. 

Martin & Lou at the Ocracoke Oyster Company, 3–6pm. Great tunes in the afternoon! 

Music at Deepwater Theater! Molasses Creek begins their weekly concerts this week. Shows begin at 8pm at Deepwater Theater. More info here.

Friday, June 3:

Ocrafolk is here! The 3-day festival kicks off with music on the Live Oak stage at Books to Be Red, followed by A Taste of Ocrafolk and the Art Auction at the Berkley Manor. Full schedule of events here

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night from March 25th – November 18th. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

Saturday, June 4:

Ocrafolk all day long! Music, storytelling, artisan booths, great food, lots of fun! Check out the full schedule here

Play Ball! The Blue Claws and Raptors teams both have double-headers! Blue Claws start at Noon with two games, followed by Raptors at 2:30-ish. All are welcome to the Ocracoke Community Park to see the kids play!

Sunday, June 5:

More Ocrafolk! Don't miss the Gospel Sing at 9am, followed by more music and fun. Check out the full schedule here
