Current Events Week of July 13–19

Wednesday, July 15:

Expose yourself to art!  Art opening at Down Creek Gallery, 5 – 8pm, featuring new works by Roy Revels consisting of various mixed media, sculpture, and new genre. Revels, a well established abstract artist, states that his work is “more conceptual than anything else, and means to be thought provoking. It gives individuals the opportunity to draw their own opinions about the work, rather than feed certain ideals and subject matter pertaining to the sculptures and paintings.” Revels also mentions his upcoming show will be a bit on the darker side, featuring “House Music,” more sculptures and various genre, and fewer paintings. There'll be refreshments, too!

Family Movie Night @ at the Ocracoke Library. The movie starts at 6pm. Title TBA. It's a free program; kids under 10 need a grown-up with them.

The Ocrafolk Opry is back for its 15th season at Deepwater Theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for youngens. Show starts at 8pm; doors open at 7:30pm.
