Unless, of course, you want to stay home and let the Current tell you what happened. 

Monday, April 6th:

The Ocracoke Library Knitting Club is open to everyone, from beginners to experts. Stop by the library at 5pm on Monday. Come out and share your projects and sit 'n' knit!

Hyde County Board of Commissioners Meeting – and more! The agenda and packets for the Monday, April 6, 2015 Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting are now available to the public. Click here to view the documents.

The Board of Equalization and Review meeting will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. via teleconferencing equipment in the Hyde County Government Center Multi-Use Room (30 Oyster Creek Rd, Swan Quarter) and in the Ocracoke School Commons (120 Schoolhouse Rd, Ocracoke). The public is invited to attend.

The Joint Hyde County Board of Education and Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting will take place in the same space beginning at 6:00 p.m. 
The Public Hearing for Amendment of The Hyde County Code: Article VII; Ocracoke Development Ordinance - Section 36-172. Permit Procedure will begin at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible.

Tuesday, April 7th: 

Occupancy Tax Board meeting, 7pm at the Community Center. This is the annual appropriations request meeting for all of Ocracoke's organizations. County manager Bill Rich will also give a presentation about his proposal to use $100,000 of Occupancy tax funds to create an Ocracoke Visitor Bureau, promote tourism to Ocracoke, and to pay for a full-time county employee to run the bureau and do county business on Ocracoke.


Wednesday, April 8th:

The Ocracoke Civic and Business Association meets at 7pm at the Community Center. All are welcome! If you're wondering what you're missing, check out the minutes from the March meeting here!

Thursday, April 9th:

More fun! The Ocracoke Planning and Development Board meets at 5:30pm at the Community Center.
