Dolphins Are Conference Champs!

Medals will be given to the top 7 runners in each division.

Kevin has started pulling away at this point.

Kevin Perez led the Dolphin high school boys to victory with a personal best time of 18:01. In the medals were: Adam Carter 2nd place, Carlos Delao 6th place, and Jordi Perez 7th place. Evin Caswell and Andrew Tillett brought in the 13th and 24th places to put the team in 1st place.

Karen Perez also led the Dolphin high school girls to victory. Also in the medals were: Abigail Morris 2nd place, Alin Tellez 4th place, Sydney Austin 6th place. Kaylee Gaskins finished out the places in 10th, putting the entire girls team in the top 10.

Turning in personal best times were Jordi Perez, Abigail Morris, Alin Tellez, Sydney Austin and Kaylee Gaskins. 

The Dolphin teams are looking forward to the Region 1 Championship in Manteo on Saturday October 26th. The boys race will be at 11:30 and the girls race at 12:30. Fifteen teams with 75-80 total runners in each division are competing for the Region 1 trophies.

This race is a qualifier for the North Carolina State Championships on November 2nd in Kernersville, NC.

Sydney, post race. It was Sydney's 14th birthday!

Yes, I know this is a terrible picture but Adam was running very fast.

This is the only time you will see a picture of Kevin with someone so close. He won the race by a long shot.

This should be a picture of Carlos. He ran so fast he missed the picture

Run, Jordi, Run! Jordi is only a freshman & he is already a force to be reckoned with.

Evin, along with Kevin, is a sophomore. Thankfully, they will return to the team next year.

Abby also runs very fast!

Alin is the senior girl on the team. She will certainly be missed.

Last minute instructions, with Karen, Kaylee, and Coach B. Of course, Karen just runs flat out as hard as she can. I don't think you can instruct that. Karen is a freshman, other teams in the conference should be scaared.

Andrew is one of 3 seniors on the team. Carlos & Adam are the other two. These guys will be missed next season.
