Welcome Back, Walt!

Dear Editor,

The people of Ocracoke are indeed fortunate to welcome back Walt Padgett as the Ocracoke School principal. Even though out-of-state friends and family members will miss him, no one wants to take exception to Walt’s service as a dedicated leader and prominent role model for Ocracoke’s students and educators. Displaying wholehearted effort and tireless energy as an accomplished school administrator, Walt will once again be blessed by the rewarding experience of making a difference in the lives of others.

Living on the island, Walt will be joined by his wife, Judy. Enthusiastically supporting her husband’s endeavors, Judy, with her compassionate attitude and outgoing personality, will also become a positive addition to the community.

Congratulations, Walt and Judy, you have won the Ocracoke lottery---“two tickets to paradise”!
