In an unsurprising twist, crime remains low on Ocracoke Island.

Officers have noticed families arriving to spend the holiday in their second homes.  "That's good to see," said Sergeant Jason Daniels.  "Maybe some of these shops will get business."

There were a few cars stopped for speeding, and one violation was written for failure to stop at a stop sign.

"Stop at the stop signs.  They're not yield signs.  That is a stupid, uncalled for ticket.  Where are you going in such a hurry?" said Daniels.

Santa is still watching and so are officers, who will continue to patrol on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  They are hopeful that everyone will behave so they can also enjoy the holiday with their loved ones.
