The event was held on the second anniversary of WOVV 90.1 fm's first on air broadcast.  The community-supported radio station earned about $3,200 after expenses.  The Fire Department helped organize the costumed competition, and took home about $1200.

Enthusiasm was carried over to Dajio along with the arm wrestling table after the competition ended.  Men, denied the opportunity to compete in the sanctioned contest, tested their strength and skills against one another.

Ranked arm wrestler and volunteer referee Giles Russell was on hand to take on the bold and the curious and to offer tips.  Undefeated champ Karm "the Arm" Laton has "pure power," said Russell after testing her strength.

A good time was had by all.  Organizers would like to thank bartenders Dave Johnson, Jeffrey Walters, Micah Bassell and Isaac Modlin; id checkers Eric Godbey and Nathan Modlin; doorman Stetson Bond; bracket gurus Adam Burleson and Charles Temple; referees Giles Russell and Walt Padgett; Sports Talk guys Bill Cole and Dave Allewalt for emceeing; and all the wrestlers and people who came out to cheer them on.
