Last week was a pretty low key week.

With Hatteras ferries running only a few times each day, last week was "unseasonably slow," said Sergeant Jason Daniels.  Officers were available to help people who got stuck here on Monday and Tuesday.  By the weekend the ferries were operating on a regular schedule.

The Sheriff's department assisted EMS with several calls, and wrote one citation for passing on the right.

"So far this week it's been pretty calm.  Last night was a ghost town around here," said Sergeant Jason Daniels.

Daniels was invited to speak to the folks in the fishing tournament at the Anchorage Marina, and said that meeting went over well.  No one has misbehaved in such a manner to draw the attention of the law.
