UPDATE on Cedar Island Ferry

Press Release

From Lucy Wallace at NC DOT ferry division:

In tracking the package/part we need to fix the ruptured fuel line on the ferry vessel that is down and caused us to miss runs today[Thursday], we've discovered it will not arrive in time to fix the boat tonight and continue normal operations tomorrow, Friday, April 6. Therefore we will be missing runs tomorrow at this route. However, I have been assured by reservations and operations managers at both locations that all traffic will be handled so that nobody with a reservation gets left behind. They will all be accommodated.

Friday, we will miss the 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. departures from Ocracoke to Cedar Island and the 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. departures from Cedar Island to Ocracoke. But again, we had already added on runs for the next two weeks at that route to assist with visitors, so all traffic will be taken care of.

Plans, at this time, are to resume normal operations Sat., April 7.
If anybody has a reservation on these cancelled runs, they should call 800-293-3779 (BY-FERRY) and press 2 to reschedule to another departure.
