Press Release
Ocracats to Hold Second Spay/Neuter Clinic

The next spay/neuter release clinic with Coastal Animal Hospital

mobile unit will be at the Ocracoke Firehouse on Saturday March 10th. Posters advertising this clinic will go up today, March 1.

If you know of colonies or neighborhoods or just families who are struggling with feral/outdoor cats producing litters of unwanted kittens, encourage those people to sign up at the Post Office or Variety Store. Our trappers will contact them to help capture the cats for this clinic.

The PetsSmart Charities grant will pay for the basic cost of the surgery and Hyde County is paying for the rabies vaccination each cat receives. Anyone who wants to help unbox and assemble the 60+ traps we will use for this clinic is welcome to show up Monday, March 6th at 4 p.m. at Connie Leinbach's where the traps are stored. (Corner of Friendly Ridge Road and Sunset Drive).

Ocracats is also grateful for donations and volunteers to help support the clinics. There are extra costs for the clinics that are not covered by the grant. For the January Clinic, Ocracats is paying over $1000 for our share.

Donations can be sent to Ocracats, PO BOX 993, Ocracoke,NC 27960 Questions, please contact Ruth Fordon at ruth@islandpath.com or 252-475-0859
