Police Blotter 2/28/2012

As far as officers know, most Ocracoke citizens acted within the parameters of the law last week.

Some did not.  A Hispanic man was assaulted toward the end of the week, said Sergeant Daniels.  He was walking late at night or early in the morning and was attacked.  Officers followed what leads they could, but made no arrests because the man was unable to positively identify his assailants.

Officers suspect the assault stemmed from an existing disagreement, and was not a random act of violence.

We will leave you with this thought for the week, from American poet Archibald MacLeish:  "There is only one thing more painful than learning from experience and that is not learning from experience."
