More COVID Cases in Hyde County

These three new cases are also on the mainland.

Editor's note: The Hyde County Health Department press releases don't give out COVID case location information in their press releases.

However, a day or two after the county press release goes out, the NCDHHS COVID-19 dashboard will update and show cases by ZIP code. Ocracoke's ZIP code is 27960 and so far, we have zero cases.

Luana Gibbs, Health Director for Hyde County reports three (3) more cases of COVID-19 in Hyde County. All of the individuals are in isolation at home and close contact investigations have occurred. This brings Hyde County’s total count of laboratory confirmed cases to six (6); however, three (3) of those cases have recovered. There are no current hospitalizations and no deaths to report. Individuals should continue to be mindful of prevention practices, and feel free to contact the Health Department, Engelhard Medical Center, or Ocracoke Health Center should you desire testing.
