Friday night's Variety Show at Ocracoke School was a big hit.

We all know that Ocracoke is full of talent in all ages. The Ocracoke Variety show is the perfect opportunity for Ocracoke to showcase its talent. We saw a variety of performances including singing, dancing, cheering, instrumental renditions, and more. But, this wouldn’t of been possible without the working behind the scenes. Charles Temple controlled lights, Ivey Belch worked sound, Coach B and his P.E students helped set up the Gym, and Mrs.Susan O'Neal planned and oversaw the whole show and did an amazing job as usual.

Ocracoke Cheer Club started with a cheer remix and got the whole audience pumped up for an amazing show. The girls really impressed us with their fresh moves and we can’t wait to see more of the Cheer Club at games.

Next we had Karen Jordan performing an acoustic version of the song “Black Bird” while also playing the Guitar to accompany her voice. Sally Jordan and Catharine Todd sang the next two songs. The next act really stole the show. 5th grader Catherine Todd sang “The Way You Make Me Feel,” while pre-K student Dallas Mason continued on with an amazing dancing impression of Michael Jackson and stunned us all with his groovy moves.

Essie O'Neal, Melanie Perez, Caroline Stocks, Angela Flores, Shayna Brooks, Julliette Jordan, and Malli Harrell sang beautifully during the next few acts. Melanie Perez mixed things up a little by dancing to “Photograph.”  Maren Donlon sang “Arms” and Paul Jordan continued with “Imagine” played on the piano.

Finally, Corey Yeatts, Paul Jordan, Jason Daniels, and Timothy Wilkinson did a full musical rendition of the 80’s song “Bring it on Heartbreak.”

The show was a great success and everyone performed amazingly. We can’t wait for another talent show next year!
