Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Congratulations to the Howard's Pub crew who won the top (and only) prize for best entry in the 1st ever Ocracoke Saint Patrick's Day Parade!

The parade route ran from Ocracoke Station (the gas station) down Hwy. 12 to the Ocracoke Bar & Grille. It was short and sweet! 

Howard's Pub owner Ann Warner donated their prize ($550) to Ocracoke School. Principal Walt Padgett said Ann didn't specify what the school should spend it on, so he will sit down with school secretary Lisa Caswell and decide the best use for it. 

"We appreciate it," Walt said. "It was very generous of them."
