Here's what will get you warned and/or ticketed on Ocracoke's beach.

March 8-March 28, 2015

Nine verbal warnings were given to people who did not have their pets leashed on National Park Service property.

Seven verbal warnings, one written warning, and two citations were issued for speeding on paved roads. Two verbal warnings were issued for speeding in ORV areas.

One verbal warning was issued for driving on the beach outside of designated areas, and six verbal warnings were given for driving in ORV areas without the required permit.

During the month of March, National Park Service Law Enforcement Officers made 18 assists while on patrol which included helping beach-goers with their stuck/disabled vehicles, and information/directions.

March 29-April 25 2015

Two verbal warnings were given to people camping in undesignated areas.

Four verbal warnings and one citation were given for pets of their leashes on NPS property.

One written warning was given for a miscellaneous alcohol violation (underage possession, spirituous liquor, giving alcohol to a minor).

One citation was given for possession of a controlled substance, and another was written for possession of drug paraphernalia.

One arrest was made for driving under the influence, one citation for fictitious/false vehicle registration was issued, and one verbal warning was given for an unregistered vehicle.

Twelve verbal warnings, two written warnings, and six citations were issued for speeding on paved roads.

Three citations were given for possession of an open container of alcohol.

Ten verbal warnings, six written warnings, and three citations were issued for driving on the beach/ramps without an ORV permit. One written warning and one citation were issued for other ORV permit violations.

During the month of April, National Park Service Law Enforcement Officers made 16 assists while on patrol which included helping beach-goers with their stuck/disabled vehicles, and information/directions.

April 26-May 9, 2015

One verbal warning was issued for camping in an undesignated area.

Four verbal warnings were given for pets off the leash.

One citation was issued for driving without a license, six verbal warnings, one written warning, and three citations were issued for speeding on paved roads, and one arrest was made for driving under the influence.

One citation was written for possession of an open container of alcohol.

Six verbal warnings and two written warnings were given for driving in ORV areas without a permit.

Two written warnings and one written warning were given for speeding in an ORV area.

During the last part of April and first part of May, National Park Service Law Enforcement Officers made 22 assists while on patrol which included helping beach-goers with their stuck/disabled vehicles, and information/directions.
