Dear Miss Know It All,
I moved here this summer to work and met a great guy. At the end of the summer things were going so great that I stayed. He was so awesome summer and fall. We went to the bars and the beach and had a great time. We would hang out all the time with his friends and with my friends. But now, he leaves me at home while he goes to hang out with the guys. He goes fishing all day or whatever and I am left alone. It was so fun this summer. What gives?

Welcome to Ocracoke winters. The summer is a time for drunken fun in large groups. No one has any time except after work at 11pm and they need to make it count! In the winter there is a noticeably slower pace with far fewer distractions. This is the time of the year that guys get to rekindle their neglected bromances with long days at the beach or all night gaming marathons. Don't worry, spring is right around the corner and if you can stick it out, the (party) season will begin again soon. In the mean time, get up with your girls for a wine soaked Netflix series marathon!

Can you explain to me why everyone in the South gets so excited when it snows? Even the mention of flurries stops the world. Everyone runs for bread and milk. Why? It never even sticks. What is the big deal?

Dear Snow Bunny,
You're not from around here are you? Snow is pretty and it doesn't happen all the time so it is kind of a big deal. We know that it isn't going to stick around long so we just want to enjoy it while it's here. I never got the bread and milk thing either though, honestly. We all know what we really need to stock up on is powdered doughnuts, hot chocolate, and vodka. Next time to is set to snow, go get those three things and chill out and enjoy!
