Dolphins to Celebrate Senior Night
Senior Lady Dolphins Abbey Morris, Katie O'Neal, and Lucy O'Neal will be honored at the Senior Night ceremony. Games start at 4pm.
In the past week the dolphins have had several conference matchups, including games against Creswell, Gates County and Plymouth.
In the first game of the week against Creswell, the Lady Dolphins came into the game heavy favorites, as they defeated the Lady Tigers in the first matchup of the year. The Dolphins crushed the Tigers 71-25. This game would prove to be almost the same as the first matchup as the ladies easily won the contest 57-24.
In the Boys game, the Dolphins played a tough game just like the first matchup where they won 53-46. In this game, the Dolphins overcame an eight point deficit in the fourth quarter to come back and take down the Tigers with a score of 57-48.
This proved to be one of the more challenging games of the year for the Lady Dolphins. Although the dolphins fought hard throughout the entire game, they fell short to the Red Barons 59-37.
The boys showed vast improvement from the first matchup against where they lost by 19. In this matchup the Dolphins stuck close to Gates for the entire game. Only down 4 at halftime, the Dolphins had a chance to beat the first place team in the conference. But with a sluggish start in the 3rd quarter, the Dolphins found themselves down double digits. In the 4th the Dolphins attempted to come back into the game, but Gates ended up winning the game 63-53.
The boys did not play one of their better games of the year against Plymouth. The Dolphins did not play good transition
defense, and had trouble scoring the ball against Plymouth. The Dolphins lost the game 74-40, and are now seventh place in the conference.
The next game is this Wednesday against Manteo at home for Senior Night! Girls start at 4, see you there! Go dolphins!
