acoke Volunteer Firemen’s Ball at the community center on Ocracoke Island.  Thanks to the continued support of sponsors, donors and volunteers, last year’s ball was again very successful. Together we raised almost $64,000 – and netted close to $56,000  for the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund!

Big news this year!  The plans for the new building have been finalized and we’re lining up a contractor to start construction on our new firehouse!  We are hopeful that we can break ground early this spring and we continue to count on your support as the dream of building comes to fruition.  We need your help more than ever.

This year’s Firemen’s Ball will be much the same as in previous years…we will start off the day with a pig pickin’ (last year we served over 600 people!), followed by a silent and a live auction, finishing off with a musical extravaganza involving three great local favorites providing live music; The Ocracoke Rockers, The Aaron Caswell Band, and The Dune Dogs.  

For those of you who have helped in the past, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you from the Ocracoke Fire Protection Association and all those involved with the Firemen’s Ball.  We continue to be humbled by the generosity of so many local businesses and individuals.  Please consider a sponsorship this year to help us with our New Building Fund - it’s a wonderful opportunity to have your business or family name associated as a part of this great cause, while supporting the local community.
