In Memoriam

I write this today in memory of Ocracoke Beach, which was among the most beautiful, natural, clean stretches of seashore in the world. It's uniqueness brought joy to resident and visitors, human and animal alike for many years.

Now, in an eagerness to enforce "rules and regulations", it has become an eyesore of signs, billboards, mile markers, black plastic dividers, speed signs and even stop signs!

What ever has happened to beautiful Ocracoke Beach?

With tears,

Carolyn Wynn
