Cookout and Cleaning at Ocracoke VFD

All work and no play makes firemen dull boys.

After spring cleaning and giving the floor of the Ocracoke Firehouse a fresh coat of paint, a group of volunteer firefighters set up a grill and shared burgers, hot dogs and laughs. It was the most safely managed flame on the island.

Chief Albert O'Neal said support for the non-profit organization has been strong, with over 30 volunteers showing up for a recent meeting. Visit the OFPA website to get involved, make a donation and learn more.
