Unfortunately, Hyde County Health Department reports that the mass testing for Covid-19 scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2020 on Ocracoke Island is cancelled. MakoMedical Laboratories, Inc. contacted the Health Department today, July 29 at 12:00 p.m. to report Mako had a staffing issue for the event and therefore the event could not proceed. 

At this time, a make-up date is being negotiated. As soon as that date and plans are finalized, a press release will be issued informing the public of the new mass testing event date, time, and location. 

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond Health Department control. Stay tuned for more information, and as always, the Hyde County Health Department remains available to the public to answer questions and provide education.
