Love Letters

A Valentine for Ocracoke: a free performance of "Love Letters" on February 15th.

Ocracoke Alive is thrilled to be hosting Pulitzer Prize finalist play "Love Letters" by A. R. Gurney, about love and friendship that spans almost 50 years beginning in the early 1930s.

Performers Wally & Maria Hurst are coming from the Raleigh/Durham area for this special event. The show will be performed at the Ocracoke Community Center at 7:30 PM on Saturday, Feb 15 (the day after Valentine's Day). No charge for tickets, however, seating is limited & reservations recommended. Donations are being accepted to benefit residents affected by Dorian. About the performers:

Wally Hurst is the former Managing Director at Lakeland Theatre Company in Littleton, NC, and the former Director of the Norris Theatre at Louisburg College. He has performed on stage, done film work, and has produced over 400 shows in California and North Carolina.

Maria Hurst has been involved in creating theatre for over 50 years. She has directed, choreographed, costumed, stage-managed and performed in over 200 productions. In her 15 years as Administrative Manager at Lakeland Cultural Arts Center she received 18 awards. She has performed in several theatres throughout the state of California and most recently was one of the original cast work-shopping "An Extra Penny" as it prepared for its journey to Broadway.
