Hurricane Dorian may have damaged our Holiday Lights signs, but not our Christmas cheer. What a treat it was to take in the twinkle of holiday lights driving around this evening. Our judges for the evening were excited too as we embarked on our hunt for standouts in this year’s displays.

Given all this island has been through over the past few months, I must say that each pop of color and strand of lovingly displayed lights and decorations are all winners in my book. Thank you to all who decorated their homes to help herald in the season. Your time and efforts have brought joy and sparkle to our beautiful village, and I know are being enjoyed by all.

As you drive past the award winners, you will notice some homemade signs this year. The children of the afterschool program contributed their talents and artwork to creating these replacements. And since we needed to use new signs this year, we thought it would be fun to add a new category, The Griswold Award, in honor of the now Christmas classic film, "National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation," for extra brilliance and bling.
