The 11thannual event benefitting WOVV (90.1 on your FM dial) will be held this Thursday, June 13 at the Berkley Barn. The event costs $10 at the door. Doors open at 6 for Wrestlers to register, and to admire one another’s costumes. Competition commences at 7 p.m.

Locally crafted beer by 1718 Brewery will be available. Bring your ID and cash for beer tickets. 

Taqueria Suazos 504, Ocracoke’s newest hit food truck, will be serving food. Bring your appetite, and cash!

Ladies, how quickly can you produce a costume? Last year’s winner, Wrestles with Bears, will be defending her title. Women of all ages are encouraged to sign up to compete. The event is fun, friendly, and sometimes silly. 

The competition gets serious, too. Professional arm wrestler Giles Russel returns again to volunteer as referee. Thank you, Giles, for many years of keeping the competition safe and fair. 

Prizes will be awarded to the winning wrestlers and for the best costumes. The fun will continue at the after party at Dajio. 

Last year’s event raised over $5000, and WOVV organizers hopes the fundraiser will once again be a rollicking good time to help support your community radio station.
