Monday, March 4th:

11am: Ocracoke TDA Board meeting @ Community Center This is the board that decides how to spend the new 2% occupancy tax.

Current Events March 4–10

6pm: Hyde County Board of Commissioners mtg:  Click here to view the the agenda and documents. The meeting will take place via teleconferencing equipment in the Hyde County Government Center and in the Ocracoke Community Center. The public is invited to attend.

Tuesday, March 5th: 

5am: Spring Hatteras-Ocracoke ferry schedule begins! The 8:30am ferry is back! Woo!

5pm: Pancake Supper @ the OUMC Rec Hall. Happy Mardi Gras! It's the annual Fat Tuesday pancake supper at the Methodist Church Rec Hall. $5 per plate or $15 per family suggested donation. Everyone is welcome!

6pm: WOVV Annual Open House @ WOVV Radio Station; 6pm: Snacks and desserts; bring a dish to share. 7pm: Annual meeting

6pm: OPS Spring Membership Meeting @ Ocracoke Community Center! Please bring a dessert to share. All are welcome -- you don't have to be an Ocracoke Preservation Society member to attend. Come out to hear about the latest projects, exhibits and plans for 2019.

6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-8:30pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). Every Tuesday night through March. No charge, but donations welcome.

Wednesday, March 6th:  

6pm: Ash Wednesday Service @ OUMC

7pm: Ocracoke Decoy Carvers Guild meeting @ Community Center

Friday, March 8th:

8am: Eduardo's Taco Stand open for the season! Hot Mess burrito, here I come! 

Saturday, March 9th:

11am: Family Preschool Storytime @ Ocracoke Library! Ms. Claire will lead the storytimes and crafts, which will take place every other Saturday and alternate between English and Spanish. This week is Spanish; all are welcome to this free program.

Sunday, March 10th: 

2am: Daylight Saving Time begins at 2am. Spring forward! Lose an hour of sleep!

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Taize service 7am; Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
