“Little Walt” worked for the Ferry Division for the NC Department of Transportation. He graduated from the Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, GA, he loved fishing and was known to be a very generous person with a big heart.
Besides his parents, “Little Walt” is survived by one brother, Carl O’Neal and wife, Serina of Ocracoke, NC; two nieces, MacKenzie O’Neal of Ocracoke, NC and Paison May Birge of Seattle, WA; two nephews, Chandler O’Neal of Ocracoke, NC and Jackie Dean Birge, Jr. of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Dean Birge.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Ocracoke United Methodist Church by the Revs. Richard Bryant and Ivey Belch.
