Ocracoke will have high surf and dangerous swimming conditions this week due to the storm. There's a high risk for rip currents. Please be careful -- the safest place to swim is at the lifeguard beach. They're on duty 9–5 every day.

The Ocracoke Friends of the Library Book Sale continues throughout the month whenever the library is open: Monday–Friday 3–7pm (3–8pm on Wednesday) and Saturday 9am–1pm.

2pm: Silent & Live Auction Fundraiser @ Books to Be Red lawn. Lots of great donations from local artists and businesses! Proceeds will benefit Shirley Schoelkopf, who is battling lung cancer and needs an oxygen machine to return home to Ocracoke.
