6pm: County Commissioners Meeting @ Community Center The agenda and packets for the Tuesday, November 6, 2017, Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting are now available to the public. Click here to view the documents. The meeting will take place via teleconferencing equipment in the Hyde County Government Center Multi-Use Room and in the Ocracoke Community Center using electronic conferencing equipment. The public is invited to attend.
6pm: OPS Fall Membership Potluck & Meeting @ Community Center Ocracoke Preservation Society will have its 2017 Fall Membership Meeting during which the 2017 Ocracoke Cultural Heritage Award Recipient and 2017 Historic Home Award will be announced. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a potluck meal and fellowship as well celebrate this year’s winners.
6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-9pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). No charge, but donations welcome.
6:30pm: Youth Choir Practice @ the Methodist Church. Open to all Ocracoke middle and high school students.
7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. No charge, but donations welcome.
8:15am: Veterans Day Ceremony @ Ocracoke School Flag Circle All veterans are welcome to attend while the Ocracoke School students honor them with songs and presentations.
7pm: Dance Workshop @ Ocracoke School gym with Fabian Vargas of Ballet Folklorico. Join in the fun and learn some traditional Mexican folk dances!!
7:30pm: Live Music at the Coyote Music Den! The Coyote Music Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night through November. Beloved island native Martin Garrish shares songs – "signposts of life" – and enchanting stories about growing up on Ocracoke. $15 for adults/$7 for kids under 12. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
