Ty took these photos during a daytrip to Ocracoke on Wednesday, July 27th. She says the wind and stormfront "seemed to come virtually out of nowhere." 

Ty and her husband are from Sanford, NC, about 35 miles north of Fayetteville. She writes, "We usually travel yearly for a restorative week on on Ocracoke, although this time we were only able to day trip, and on a great day apparently."

She says they are in love with the whole island, and she particularly enjoys shopping at Books to be Red, Village Craftsmen, and Over the Moon, and looks forward to seeing the same shopkeepers each time she visits.
