Fundraiser Was a Great Success!

Fundraiser Was a Great Success!
Spaghetti, bake sale, and raffle raised over $5000 for Ali and Brian Fulcher.

"Karm Laton and Jessica Caldwell are awesome!" said Brian's mom, Melissa Sharber, about the event's organizers. "So are all the people who donated their time, money, baked goods and/or supplies for the dinner. The family would like to thank everyone. This is truly Ocracoke at its finest."

Brian was released from the hospital this morning after 25 days since his accident. He and Ali have gone home to: 10 Town Plaza Suite 86, Durango, CO 81301

The spaghetti dinner sold out in the first hour!

Original story posted 4/17/15: No need to cook this Sunday – just stop by Jason's Restaurant, starting at 11:30am, to carry-out a complete spaghetti dinner. To-go plates come with spaghetti, garlic bread, and tea for only $8 (marinara) or $10 (meat sauce.)

Bring some extra cash because no fundraiser on Ocracoke would be complete without a bake sale! Yum! (If you want to bake something for the sale, please bring it to Jason's by 11am on Sunday.) There'll be a raffle, too, with some great prizes donated by local businesses!

All proceeds benefit Brian and Ali Fulcher, a young Ocracoke couple who are currently living in Durango, Colorado. Brian recently suffered a traumatic brain injury in a skateboarding accident on March 26th, and spent two weeks in the ICU, with Ali by his side. Brian is still in the hospital's rehabilitation unit, and progressing well with his physical, occupational, and speech therapies. He could be able to go home with Ali as early as Sunday! After he leaves the hospital, Brian will still have a long recovery ahead of him, so Ocracoke (his hometown) is pitching in to help with medical bills and living expenses until he's back on his feet.

Thanks to Karm Laton and Jessica Caldwell for organizing this event, and to Jason's for hosting it. The Ocracoke community always appreciate a tangible way to help out some friends and eat at the same time.

Extra donations are welcome. Pick up a delicious lunch and support a good cause!
