‘Tis the season for holiday cheer, family and…dreaming of spring baseball!

Ocracoke Community Park Dreams Big This Winter

For the folks involved with the Ocracoke Community Park project this holiday season is bound to be busy with preparation for spring.

Ball fields don’t just appear out of thin air, and a lot of hard work and gracious donations have been contributed to turn this tiny island community’s dream into a reality.  The progress over the past few months is impressive. Fencing, two dugouts, and a sturdy scorer’s box are in place. Sod is on the way! Over $164,000 in donations alone was contributed to the project this year.

A true, legitimate ball field is taking shape and it’s beautiful. But there are a lot of little details that need to be worked out and pieces of equipment that still need to be acquired. So in time for the season of giving, the Ocracoke Community Park committee has created a wish list of items needed before the kids can play ball.

If you are interested in donating any of the items listed below, please first contact Vince O’Neal at (252) 921-0112 for information about specifications and requirements.

Ocracoke Community Park is under the umbrella of Ocracoke Youth Center, a 501c(3). All donations are 100% tax deductible. Please mail cash or check donations to Ocracoke Youth Center, PO Box 1684, Ocracoke, NC 27960. To contribute online, please visit www.ocracokecommunitypark.org.
